Note: Blanket is made in alternating 20-st blocks of
garter st and St st. Blanket is worked diagonally from 1 corner to the
opposite corner, starting with 1 block and inc to 9 blocks at widest
point, then dec back down to 1 block.
Instructions:
Cast on 20 sts. K 34 rows (17 garter st ridges on RS).
Inc section: Next row (RS) Cast on 20 sts, k to end.
Next row Cast on 20 sts, k20, p20, k20-60 sts.
Row 1 (RS) Knit.
Row 2 K20, p20, k20. Rep rows 1 and 2 16 times more-17
garter st ridges on RS.Cast on 20 sts at beg of next row and k this row.
Cast on 20 sts at beg of next row, [k20, p20] twice, k20-100 sts and five
20-st blocks. Cont in pat as established until this new row of blocks has
17 garter st ridges on RS. On next RS row, rep inc section and complete
next row of 7 blocks in same way. Rep inc section once more and complete
next row of 9 blocks in same way.
Dec section: Bind off 20 sts at beg of next (RS) row and
k this row. Bind off 20 sts at beg of next row, [k20, p20] 3 times,
k20-140 sts and seven 20-st blocks. Cont in pat as established until this
new row of blocks has 17 garter st ridges on RS. On next RS row, rep dec
section and complete next row of 5 blocks in same way. Rep dec section
once more and complete next row of 3 blocks in same way. Rep dec section
once more and complete rem block. Bind off.
