Buying & Selling Used Golf Balls and Equipment

Whether or not you love to golf or not it is one of the biggest sports today. More and more people are becoming golfers each year and with such a growing market it's one of the best businesses to be in.

There is a large market for all sorts of new golf equipment but used golf equipment is becoming more and more popular. Whether you work on a golf course, or an avid golfer or just want to get into the game this is a booming business and continues to grow! Reclaimed golf balls is one business you may want to thing about getting into.

Where to start? Well, if you have a collection of used golf balls you can start by trying to sell them online on sites such as ebay. If you want to go large and collect balls at local golf courses and resell or recycle them yourself this can also be done.

First, you have to get permission to collect balls from golf course. Once this is established you will need to know the hiding places such as woods, grassy areas and especially the ponds (in water). Most of the balls recovered from courses are located in ponds. Golf courses will hire people or allow people to retrieve balls from their ponds and keep them for resale. You may have to research this a little but it can be a very profitable business which also requires a lot of hard work. Some companies call these golf ball divers, or pond ball retrievers. It's a dirty and sometimes dangerous job and your in water that doesn't make it easy to see the balls.

Another good source to look for balls is at thrift shops but the you have to try and resell them for more then the purchase price.

Now, once you have retrieved these balls what do you do with them? You can try to sell them online yourself. If you decide to do this you can clean them and even repackage them as long as you don't remove the original title name off the ball. One of the best things that work to clean golf balls is Polident (yes the denture cleaner available at most department and drug stores). Another source is to find someone that buys recycled balls. One company in Florida that hires pond ball retrievers is Nitro Golf in Stuart Florida. They purchase golf balls in a large quanity and recycle them for resell in major department stores. You can also look online to see who purchase used golf balls. Places such as Nitro Golf purchase in large quantities but the paycheck can be large also.

Another way of selling is to create your on web site or create an ebay store. There is a large market on ebay for used golf merchandise. Search the site for more information.

There is also a web site called Ibuygolfclubs.com that purchases used golf equipment including balls, accessories, clubs, and bags. Check your major search engines for places that buy used golf equipment. Search under "who buys used golf balls".

If you ever thought of starting your own business and love to golf then maybe reselling used golf merchandise is something to consider.
